Anthony Di Iorio, co-founder of Ethereum joins Atari

Anthony Di Iorio, the man responsible for Ethereum and Jaxx, is currently working with Atari for the launch of the Atari Token.

Di Iorio has been named as an honorary co-founder for the Blockchain project which will fuel the Atari Token and the Atari Platform Network. He has invested an undetermined amount of money in the project. Atari’s cryptocurrency venture has gotten some credibility thanks to Di Iorio’s name, as most of the company’s founders are more experienced in video gaming instead of cryptocurrency.

“As someone who grew up in the Atari age, and who understands the importance of how products are designed and developed, it’s extremely encouraging to see teams with vast experience creating systems that are not just user-friendly, but scalable and functional,” said Di Iorio in a statement.

Di Iorio is responsible for the Atari Token’s pre-sale during the initial investment round. More details about the public sale for the token is expected to be revealed in the coming months.

Atari’s cryptocurrency still has very vague details so far, but the Atari token is expected to be used for digital gaming platforms. On the other hand, the Pong Token (which will be worked on by a different crypto group) will be used in online casinos instead. Atari has announced that details about crypto-casinos will be available soon.

To prepare their company for the launch of the Atari Token, Atari has claimed a minority stake in Infinity Networks, which is currently working on a decentralized Blockchain to be used along with digital entertainment platforms.

Ever since Atari’s launch in 1972, the company has changed owners so many times already, with Nolan Bushnell being the very first owner. At the moment, the company is based in France and has been in the headlines recently after they announced a new console and the release of a hat that has built-in Bluetooth speakers.

The launching of Atari’s console has been delayed and will be released in December, with preorders schedule to begin on May 30th. However, Atari hasn’t provided any solid details about the system and its specs, as well as what games could be played on it. On the other hand, Atari’s hat is currently selling in the market for $130.
