Golem is a global, open sourced, decentralized supercomputer that anyone can access. The Poland-based Golem Network is an innovative piece of technology that decentralizes computing power, where anyone can make money renting out their computing power or developing & selling software, in order to create a global market for computation where anyone can contribute and buy computation. Golem is a platform built on a peer-to-peer network secured by the Ethereum blockchain, providing direct and transparent payments between the ecosystem’s three user groups; Requesters, Providers and Software developers. Golem’s market makes complex applications such as computer-generated imagery (CGI) rendering, big data analytics and machine learning more approachable. The Golem Network Token (GNT) GNT is used as the currency for the Golem network where users who wanted to participate in the project can exchange Ether by Golem Network Tokens (GNT); an Ethereum-based token of exchange between Golem ecosystem participants. GNT is also used for processes such as the Application Registry, which enables anyone to deploy software to the network, and the Transaction Framework, which provides flexibility in the monetization of the software.
